
It is not new, that identity will become your new perimeter, your next control pane. Still I see a lot of companies struggle with the concept and with the feeling to have the identity in the Cloud. Often, I hear the statement that they “lose control” once the identity is (at least partly) managed in an environment like Azure Active Directory.
I must admit that I had to learn there as well and that I had similar feelings in the past but from what I see today, I would even say that you get more control over your identities than you have on-prem.
The journey to the Cloud identity will be the hybrid one for different reasons – foremost it is the fact that you have applications which will not be able to deal with pure Cloud identities.
